YAY!!! YIPPEEE! HOORAY!!!
I can't say that I look less like Mrs. Jack Spratt, but I can say that I did lose three pounds! And that's even with going to Las Vegas and having that 8 course, French wine pairings dinner with foie gras (and yummy French bread)!
I went to the club this morning (early, early, early!) and after a little warmup, my wonderful trainer, Sarah, stretched me out, and the showed me some more machines. Yesterday's machines were for my arms; today's machines were for my legs. Yesterday, I had my time mixed up, so I actually got to work out a full hour before I worked with Sarah on my arms. It's tough for this old, fat lady, but I AM doing it!
I also signed up for 31 more training sessions with Sarah, which should take me just about through to the 22 weeks projected for my initial weight loss goals. Because of the holidays, my trip to the Caribbean and hers to Colorado, I won't see her again until the first week of January. Then she's getting married Jan 14, and I'll be on my own until the end of the month. I am hoping to see at least a size come off between now and then.

Official Weigh In

You will probably see more progress if you take measurements of your upper arms, upper legs, waist, hips, etc. for comparison purposes. Once you start working out - muscle weighs more than fat - so the scale might not be saying what you want to see, but keeping track of the inches sure will. Keep up the good work and enjoy!
Cheers!
Evelyn
Good luck... I'm in the same boat... I need to get my dress altered & I hope it is in not out.... (In addition to shortening it...) Another gulp of water.... (funny how I need to be reminded to drink water, but a can of soda disappears before I know it....
YAH SHARON!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so proud of you!! You are on your way, girlie!! :o)
Now...do tell...WHERE did you get that pic?!?! ROFL! :oP
Sharon: Good for you! Congratulations on losing the 3 pounds.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Weight loss is really a mind game, that drags your body around! But it sure does sound like you are motivated and enthusiastic! You go girl!! I'm cheering for you! Nina
Oh and another thing... Judging from that picture of you and DH in Vegas you are NOT old and fat- so just you hush that kinda talk!
LOL! Nines (about the old and fat remark), I sure FEEL old and fat! And you know what? I am older and fatter than I was 20 years ago, and before all my illnesses and before I had kids and before time itself. That's life, but, the most important thing is that I am going to feel more fit and healthy by becomming thinner.
And yes, Starfishy, they've measured me everywhere when I first started, but we only do measurements once a month. I needed some validation that I truly didn't blow the work I had already done by the Las Vegas trip, so thus the weigh-in today.
And btw - I am NOT the pretty girl in this picture, nor is that my skinny husband either! LOL! (This being said for any newcomers to the site who truly don't recognize my charming baby face!)
One thing that I did with my trainer was to keep a food log. It was amazing what went into my mouth! You can find some easy journal type free ones on the Net. Do that for a month and be honest with yourself--that will show some areas for improvement too.
I did the inches measurements too (I had a trainer with 24 Hours too) and I didn't find that as helpful as a "Overall Look" appraisal. When my cellulite bumps began smoothing out, I knew I was making progress. You will know when you are losing weight and toning up.
Go, girl! and I am joining you in 2006. I have 20 pounds to lose that have shown up since I got married.
Wow - sounds like your doing great already! Good for you! I just think about it which does no good at all!
That's fantastic! And wonderful! And awesome... Did I make my point? You should be proud beyond belief! The food log suggestion by Deb did wonders for me, back when I was skinny between the babies...
