Sunbonnet Sue Story

These are the closeups of the little blocks that I am working on now. I got them in Paducah the same time I got the wildflower ones . I really like this setting block, and I think it looks really cool in all the different 30's reproductions. The little painted blocks finish at 4.5", the finished size of the windblown squares are 9".

This is my garden shed. The garden beds aren't quite as mature around it yet (as the rest of the yard) since it was mainly planted last season. There are Stella d'Oro lilies, red hot shrub roses, white and purple Veronica, coneflowers, oakleaf hydrangea, Phlox, and Japanese iris. It should be a prettier picture next season.
The bird house is the latest addition.
The little quilting fairy was a birthday gift from my mother. We got it at Tuesday morning in April, and I it's a Cicely Mary Barker fairy - but I hadn't ever seen a quilting one before. I love her (and my mom!)

Nice garden/yard/shed photos. You can tell you really enjoy your yard. Also loved the storm pix. The Sunbonnet Sue quilt setting is neat. Inspired me to re-think my Sunbonnet Sue blocks that I'd like to quilt up for Sutter Cancer auction. I looked back at your wildflower quilt, and love that setting too. I'll have to pick up Sharyn Craig's book. So glad that Kevin is home...now to make him behave!
Love, Wendy

I do like your shed and the bird houses are too cute. Do you sit out there to sew? It looks so restful - even better when your hard work pays off and the flowers bloom.

My question is----- the fabric that the fairy is sitting on, is it repo fabric or the real deal? Some of it looks just like some fabric from my Grnadma's stach which I now have.

Hey I love your garden shed. Can you clean it out so I can come live in it???!!! :)

And the bird house is adorable!

My favorite one is the drippy one.. lol That would be me, with my red all running.

Are there any birds in your birdhouses?

My sheds are ugly metal things. Yours is a thing of beauty! I agree with Dawn, it looks pretty enough to live in! And it even has a front porch and a pretty yard.

What cute Sues, I am working on some Sue blocks myself right now.Hadn't thought about painting them. I'm doing it the hard way, appliqueing.
